DVD Trading : http://dvd247.tripod.com

Infrequent Updates ? Yes. Useful? Yes. :-)

So what have I been up to?
1 – Did I go on holiday? No.
2 – Did I have a love affair? No [pity].
3 – Did I trade DVDs with people? Yes I did and it was great to watch TV programmes I didn’t think I’d ever watch again – Spender (Jimmy Nail). Coast To Coast [film] with Lenny Henry [brilliant serious role].
Hunting Venus (Martin Clunes) unreleased and broadcast only once (musical copyright issues apparently).

The trading site is called dvd247 at dvd247.tripod.com. Great service and a very quick reply to emails about how to donate. dvd247 has so many unreleased rarities (UK TV comedy), it was a pleasure to deal with – the feedback page is full of happy people – have a look – lots of happy people who have agreed to be emailed about thier experiences – no negative posts in 3 years! Impressive : here for feedback.

If you can’t or don’t want to go the trade route you can make a small donation (£3 per disk – free postage in UK – extra for rest of world) and this will get you most things from the big lists which is mainly UK TV comedy / music / documenataries / art. Usually rare and unreleased things like:

* – Spender & Crocodile Shoes (Jimmy Nail)
* – Coast To Coast (Lenny Henry / JohnShea)
* – Hunting Venus (Martin Clunes / Jane Horrocks)
* – Stressed Eric (13 x 30 minute animation)
* – Fist of Fun (Stewart Lee / Richard Herring)
* – Rutland Weekennd TV (Eric Idle of Monty Python)
* – Sorted [postmen] (Will Mellor [2 pints], Dean Lennox Kelly)
* – Common As Muck (Edward Woodward / Neil Dudgeon)
* – Tutti Frutti (Robbie Coltrane / Emma Thompson)
* – Eustact Brothers / Paradise Heights (Neil Morrisey / Ralf Little),
* – Johnathan Creek (Alan Davis)
* – Paul Merton – The Series (1991)

  1. Of course there are no negative posts on your website, because you won’t post those from the likes of me who are very unhappy!

    I’ve waited well over a month now and have received nothing but excuses [I gave possible reasons - Editor]. If you take the time to contact those on the feedback page (as I have now done) you’ll find out from a couple of them that they’ve received quite a few emails from people having problems.[I'm unaware of this - Editor].

    It would seem that if he’s in the mood then you’ll get your discs, but if he can’t be bothered you’ll get stiffed and all you’ll get are email replies making up more and more ridiculous excuses [all speculative rubbish - Editor]. Personally, I’d have thought repeat orders would be important to him, but apparently not. [ I don't want any trades with your inferior quality actually] – Editor

    Order from this bloke and it’ll be 50/50 whether you get anything back or not. I didn’t. Your 6 DVDs are in the post. – Editor.

  2. There are no negative posts on the DVD247 feedback page Mr Craig Piper (er I mean Mr Anonymous ) because no one has posted any – you haven’t yourself yet you’re complaining everywhere else!

    I admit I may consider not posting really negative issues as I prefer to resolve them privately. And they *are* resolved 99% of the time.

    Yes I’ve had a few problems with lost packages (3 in four years) and even a few impatient types like yourself, but they are usually resolved via private email rather than your method (mass-mailing people and making accusations about all the people on the feedback page actually being me). Ha!

    You forgot to mention that what you sent me was dreadful picture quality and some may say you’re receiving negative karma from a higher being. I wouldn’t want to trade with you again either if the quality of what you sent is represenative of the awful quality I’d be recieving, so forget your “repeat orders” theory. ;-)

    Anyway all 6 of your DVDs are in the post (Friday 5th June 2009), so maybe when you get them you can retract the unnecessary speculation and lies above and elsewhere, otherwise I will possibly delete this thread. You’ve got a chance to own up to your misguided assumptions.

    Dave
