October again and still wearing old shoes…

Below is a piece of art I’ve been working on recently. The original is 60cm x 60 cms (two foot square – no pun intended). I decided to make it public now it’s finished. :-) All artwork I produce is for sale so get in touch if you want something – digitaldave*AT*tiscali.co.uk

It doesn’t seem like that long since I last posted here, but it’s a while. I’m only doing it to keep my hand in – I’ve not kept a diary since I was about 17 years old (thats a while ago) and that’s what a blog is really. I guess I’m just testing the functionality so I know how it works and what the options are should I really need a blog at some point.

I thought I’d better keep it up to date as a few people have linked to me because I mentioned website design and dvd trading. I hope they got something useful out of whatever I said all those months ago. Personally I’ve just begun to use Firefox and it took a while to work out how to edit the source with my fav text editor (metapad.exe) but eventually I discovered a Firefox add-on called ViewSourceWith from and it’s free so have a try – you’ve nothing to lose.

Now, how do I add images to a blog? Ah that’s it…

DVD Trading : http://dvd247.tripod.com

Infrequent Updates ? Yes. Useful? Yes. :-)

So what have I been up to?
1 – Did I go on holiday? No.
2 – Did I have a love affair? No [pity].
3 – Did I trade DVDs with people? Yes I did and it was great to watch TV programmes I didn’t think I’d ever watch again – Spender (Jimmy Nail). Coast To Coast [film] with Lenny Henry [brilliant serious role].
Hunting Venus (Martin Clunes) unreleased and broadcast only once (musical copyright issues apparently).

The trading site is called dvd247 at dvd247.tripod.com. Great service and a very quick reply to emails about how to donate. dvd247 has so many unreleased rarities (UK TV comedy), it was a pleasure to deal with – the feedback page is full of happy people – have a look – lots of happy people who have agreed to be emailed about thier experiences – no negative posts in 3 years! Impressive : here for feedback.

If you can’t or don’t want to go the trade route you can make a small donation (£3 per disk – free postage in UK – extra for rest of world) and this will get you most things from the big lists which is mainly UK TV comedy / music / documenataries / art. Usually rare and unreleased things like:

* – Spender & Crocodile Shoes (Jimmy Nail)
* – Coast To Coast (Lenny Henry / JohnShea)
* – Hunting Venus (Martin Clunes / Jane Horrocks)
* – Stressed Eric (13 x 30 minute animation)
* – Fist of Fun (Stewart Lee / Richard Herring)
* – Rutland Weekennd TV (Eric Idle of Monty Python)
* – Sorted [postmen] (Will Mellor [2 pints], Dean Lennox Kelly)
* – Common As Muck (Edward Woodward / Neil Dudgeon)
* – Tutti Frutti (Robbie Coltrane / Emma Thompson)
* – Eustact Brothers / Paradise Heights (Neil Morrisey / Ralf Little),
* – Johnathan Creek (Alan Davis)

4 Gig USB Flash Drive for £7.50

I got a nice suprise yersterday. I attend an evening course at my local college (CCNA – module 3) and saw a large poster in the entrance advertising a 2 Gig USB Flash Drive for only £7.50 (my current USB drive is only 256 Meg yet was £16 a couple of years ago). Anyway I attempted to buy one, but was told at the office that the person I needed to see had gone home for the evening. Too bad.

A little later someone came into the classroom to see the tutor who informed him that he’d been told that someone had been enquiring about buying a 2 Gig USB Flash Drive, at which point I piped “it was me”. I was asked if I still wanted one and said I did. Off he went to get one from the stores. However he came back and said they’d all been sold, but as I’d enquired because of the promotional poster he felt he should give me one and produced a 4Gig USB Flash Drive for the same price (£7.50)! Made my day. Thanks Tony.
